Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Turkey to Strengthen Relations

The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, began an official state visit to Turkey this Tuesday morning. The Kuwaiti Ambassador to Turkey, Wael Al-Anzi, stated that the Emir's visit to Turkey "culminates six decades of multidimensional strategic partnership between the two countries." Ambassador Al-Anzi affirmed that the visit "will also enhance the close bilateral cooperation between the two friendly nations in political, economic, commercial, investment, defense, and security fields, serving their mutual interests." He added that this visit "holds particular significance as it is the first for the Emir since assuming leadership to a friendly country outside the Gulf and Arab framework," adding: "The visit signals the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various strategic areas and their developmental visions, especially amidst the significant challenges facing the Middle East and the world, which require the highest levels of coordination and consultation for addressing them and achieving the interests of both countries and peoples." He emphasized the importance of the discussions that will take place during the summit between the Emir of Kuwait and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, particularly regarding the key issues of the region and the world, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, and the coordination and consultation regarding ensuring international security and peace.
