Israel Prepares for Invasion of Rafah by Purchasing Tents for Evacuation of Palestinians

An Israeli official stated, "We are purchasing 40,000 tents in preparation for the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip." The official explained that the acquisition of these tents is part of the preparations for launching a ground operation in Rafah. Israeli media reported today, Tuesday, that the army may commence the invasion of Rafah if no progress is made in negotiations for a prisoner exchange deal. Israeli military officials have been quoted as saying, "We may receive the green light to begin a ground operation in Rafah if no progress is achieved in the exchange deal."
