Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, delivered a speech on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, in which he affirmed the need to enable the Palestinian people to achieve their rights, including the establishment of their independent state. He called for an end to the assaults on the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of providing safe humanitarian and relief corridors in the Gaza Strip.
Below is the text of the statement delivered by Minister of Information Salman bin Yusuf Al-Dosari: "I congratulate you on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and may you be well every year. We praise Allah who has completed the blessed month of Ramadan for us, and we ask Him, the Most High, to accept our fasting and prayers, and to return it to us with goodness and joys. We thank the Almighty for allowing us to reach the happy Eid al-Fitr, which embodies the meanings of affection, compassion, love, and forgiveness."
He added: "Allah has bestowed upon us in our country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, many blessings, including the blessing of unity of word and solidarity, and the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, including pilgrims and Umrah performers, continuing the path of the founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman - may Allah have mercy on him - and his sons, the kings of this blessed country after him."
"And as we welcome this Eid al-Fitr this year, we reaffirm the necessity of stopping the attacks on the Palestinian people, providing safe humanitarian and relief corridors, and ending their suffering by enabling them to obtain all their legitimate rights, including the establishment of their independent state and living in safety. We hope that Allah, the Most High, will grant our country security, safety, and stability through His grace and generosity."
