Stella McCartney led her audience to a giant glass greenhouse in a park in Paris to present her winter collection, showcasing garments made from wool, nylon, cotton, and recycled polyester under the bright sunshine. Images of melting glaciers appeared on screens behind the runway while the voice of British actress Olivia Colman echoed over a musical piece, presumably symbolizing Mother Earth, as she asked, "What will be left of me, after you?"
Models glided down the runway wearing loose jackets with broad shoulders, low-rise trousers that did not cover the waist, silk dresses, and leather-like coats made from materials derived from apples, along with oversized jackets crafted from woven wool pieces. After the show, McCartney paused for photos with numerous attendees, including her father Paul McCartney, musician Ringo Starr, Paris Jackson, and actress Charlotte Rampling, before engaging in a discussion with journalists.
Questions focused on the environment. McCartney expressed her preference for positivity over anger when conveying a message. She spoke about the fashion industry, saying, "It is one of the most harmful sectors on our planet, and we act as if it is not," emphasizing that the approach is about sending a "polite note" with potential solutions. Antonio Belloni, managing director of LVMH, described McCartney's role in the luxury fashion group as "inspiring" for the entire group, especially regarding environmental themes due to her extensive experience. McCartney established her brand in 2001, committing to not using leather or fur, and joined the LVMH group in 2019.
Paris Fashion Week continues until March 5, with major fashion houses such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton showcasing their collections on the final day of the event.
