Reports confirmed today, Wednesday, that the management of Al-Ittihad Club is considering filing a complaint against Brazilian player Malcom from Al-Hilal. Malcom spoiled his team's joy after their victory over Al-Ittihad (2-1) on Tuesday evening in the semi-finals of the King Abdulaziz Cup with an indecent celebration directed towards "Al-Idah" fans. Photos captured Malcom making an obscene gesture towards Al-Ittihad fans to provoke them, which could lead to a serious penalty against him.
The newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat" reported that Al-Ittihad's legal administration is currently studying the possibility of submitting a complaint to the Saudi Football Association's Disciplinary and Ethics Committee regarding Malcom's actions. The legal administration at Al-Ittihad has been cautious and has delayed submitting the complaint while verifying the circulated footage since it is not from the official broadcaster of the Saudi League. They also wish to take their time on this matter and ensure that the broadcaster has exclusive footage of the incident.
It was noted that the Disciplinary Committee will not act on the case unless an official complaint is received from Al-Ittihad's administration, according to regulations; however, it is prepared to address the case, which is expected to lead to a one-match suspension for the Al-Hilal player.
