After the arrest of several journalists inside the Shifa Medical Complex by Israeli forces, Al Jazeera reporter Ismail Al-Ghoul was released. He confirmed that he was subjected to beating and treatment that contradicts the basic rights of journalists, stating: "The occupying forces handcuffed us, blindfolded us, interrogated all the journalists present, and kept us without clothes for 12 hours." He continued: "Our phones, computers, and filming equipment were seized, in addition to the destruction of the broadcasting vehicle." He recounted his 12-hour detention experience: "The occupation bulldozed the journalists' tents and destroyed their cars during the incursion into the Shifa Complex. We were forced to surrender to the occupying forces, who made us strip completely."
