Haniya: Hamas Shows Flexibility in Negotiations but is Ready to Continue Fighting

Ismail Haniya, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Wednesday that "any flexibility in negotiations, out of concern for the blood of our people, is matched by a willingness to defend them." In a televised speech, Haniya called on Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank to "head to Al-Aqsa Mosque from the first day of Ramadan," which would exert pressure on the indirect talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement by that time. Haniya urged the "Resistance Axis," which includes Iran's allies such as Hezbollah, the Houthis in Yemen, and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, as well as Arab countries, to intensify their support for the Palestinians in Gaza. He added that it is the duty of both the Arab and Islamic nations to "break the conspiracy of starvation" in Gaza, referring to what Palestinians describe as a seemingly deliberate Israeli policy aimed at preventing food from reaching them.
