Zelensky Urges the World to Restore International Rule of Law

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged world leaders on Wednesday to make the international rules-based order "work again" by standing against Russia's use of force. In a video address at a global conference hosted by South Korea, Zelensky, whose country was invaded by Russia in 2022, stated that many countries and regions would benefit from the restoration of international rule of law. Speaking at the Summit for Democracy, an initiative by U.S. President Joe Biden aimed at discussing ways to halt the decline of democracy and the erosion of rights and freedoms, he said, "We must together make the power that has gone mad return to the rules and make the rules work again." Zelensky emphasized that for peace to prevail, the U.S. Congress must join the world in being a "partner in strong reliability."
