Husband Abuses His Wife and Minor Daughter, Threatens Them with Death

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "in the context of the follow-up conducted by the Internal Security Forces to combat crime in all its forms across various Lebanese areas, including domestic violence, information became available on 14-08-2023 regarding an individual in the town of Hula - Marjeyoun, who was abusing his wife and minor daughter, and continuously threatening them with death using firearms, keeping them confined to their home in the mentioned town.

As a result of the investigations and inquiries carried out by the Information Branch patrols in Hula, they were able to verify the validity of the information regarding the abuse, and it became evident that the person involved in the abuse of his wife and minor daughter is named: Z. A. (born in 1967, Lebanese).

On the same date, one of the patrols conducted a raid on the aforementioned house, where he was arrested. During the search of the house, a war rifle of the type "M16" along with its accessories and a handgun with a magazine were seized.

The six-year-old girl was examined by a forensic doctor, who stated that she had been subjected to abuse and beating, and there were signs of beating and torture on her body, necessitating her referral to a psychiatrist.

During the investigation with (Z. A.), he confessed to the charges of abusing and torturing his wife and daughter and threatening them with death using firearms.

Upon hearing the wife's testimony, she stated that she and her daughter were subjected to beating and torture by her husband, and she filed a complaint against him for threats of murder and abuse, noting that she had not previously reported him due to fear of his reaction.

The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was detained along with the seized items, based on the judiciary's instructions."
