King Saud University commenced its fifth international conference on sports science and physical activity titled "Physical Activity for Enhancing Quality of Life" on April 29-30, 2024. The college organized the conference and exhibition with its partners following distinguished international standards, as is customary for such conferences. The conference was sponsored by the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki Al Saud, who was represented by Deputy Minister Badr Al-Qadi.
The conference began with an inspiring speech by Abdullah Al-Shehri, who explained the objectives of the conference aimed at cooperation and collaboration to enhance sports competencies scientifically and knowledge-wise. Following this, the Dean of the college, Tarek Al-Salhi, addressed the college's distinguished and ambitious vision in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and expressed his joy over the college's programs, development, and race against time.
Next, acting university president Abdullah Al-Salman expressed gratitude to the leadership for their generous support to the university and acknowledged the university's advancement in global rankings, specifically mentioning the College of Sports Sciences and its progression.
After this, partners of the conference and exhibition, including international figures, dignitaries, and officials, were honored. This was followed by the recognition of outstanding male and female students in the college, highlighting the college's commitment to acknowledging scholarly achievements, which is a key reason for its success and distinction.
Once the awards ceremony concluded, the exhibition commenced, featuring over 65 companies and organizations across various sports fields, reflecting the event's significance. There was substantial attendance, and the conference was organized with global standards and ease of movement between sections. Additionally, a scientific knowledge session was held to exchange local and international experiences and knowledge among prominent thinkers in the sports field.
