Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian strongly condemned the American and British attacks on Yemen and the American aggression against Iraq and Syria. He stated, "I clearly informed the British Foreign Secretary that continuing the war is not the solution," affirming, "We consider the security of Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank to be the security of the region."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanani stated that military attacks on regional countries clearly contradict Washington and London’s repeated claims that they do not wish to escalate war and conflict. Kanani strongly condemned the attacks on Yemen, considering them a repeated violation of Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a blatant breach of international law by the United States and England. He noted in his statements today, "The continuation of such arbitrary actions poses an open adventure and a worrying threat to international peace and security."
He added, "The military adventures of the United States and the United Kingdom in launching military attacks on regional countries are a continuation of the misguided policy and approach of these two countries to achieve their unlawful objectives in the region and directly contradict their repeated claims that they do not want the spread of war and conflict in the area."
He pointed out that "America and England, by continuing their full support for the war crimes committed by the Zionist entity and through their military actions at the regional level, are fueling chaos, disruption, insecurity, and instability in the region. It is undeniable that the international community is responsible for holding America and England accountable."
This comes in the wake of the U.S. Central Command's announcement that it had carried out airstrikes in Yemen targeting sites used by the Houthis to attack commercial shipping. They stated that the targets included command and control systems, missile operations, drones, radars, helicopters, and numerous underground storage facilities. The Houthis have targeted shipping vessels linked to Israel in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, adversely affecting shipping, trade, and supply routes.
