Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani indicated to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a phone call on Wednesday that the developments in Gaza necessitate a unified Arab, Islamic, and international stance. The Iraqi News Agency reported that Sudani discussed with Assad bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest. The media office of the Prime Minister mentioned that "the call addressed security coordination between the two countries in facing the dangers of terrorist remnants and other security challenges, in addition to discussing ways to enhance cooperation and expand its horizons in various fields, especially in economic areas, and emphasized the importance of raising the level of fruitful partnership for the benefit and development of the two brotherly peoples."
