Reports indicate that the Prosecutor General in the Bekaa, Munif Barakat, has left all detained individuals in the expired flour case under investigation. This is based on the directives of the Attorney General, Judge Jamal al-Hajjar. The information confirms that the case has been referred from State Security to the Information Branch, pending the results of the samples and the analysis and extraction of communication data for prosecution. It is also confirmed that Barakat has exhausted the legal detention period for an offense whose penalty ranges from 3 months to a year under the Consumer Protection Law.
