Agreement on Communication Mechanism with District Doctors

The Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, met today, Thursday, with district doctors from all over Lebanon. The attendees were informed about the ministry's plan to deal with any emergencies and the readiness of the health sector to receive and treat the injured, while continuing to provide services to citizens forcibly displaced from their areas. He emphasized "the importance of their role as representatives of the Ministry of Public Health in the regions," stressing the "necessity of joint coordination between them and the ministry, as well as the recently activated public health emergency operations room to keep up with developments, where a communication line will be opened for doctors to reach out for any inquiries."

Al-Abyad reminded them of "the activation of the hotline for inquiries about health services for citizens forcibly displaced from their areas." After that, the doctors, accompanied by acting Director General of the Ministry, Fadi Sinan, inspected the public health emergency operations room, where they listened to a briefing from the team about the workflow, the platforms that have been established, the latest data, ongoing training, and ways to communicate and collaborate with partners on one hand, and with hospitals and primary healthcare centers, especially in the southern regions, on the other hand. It was agreed to establish a communication mechanism between district doctors and the Ministry of Public Health to ensure effective coordination and smooth operations among all parties involved.
