Philippines Bans Imports of Poultry Products from Australia

The Philippine Department of Agriculture announced that it will "ban imports of birds and poultry products from Australia due to an outbreak of avian influenza in Australian states." The department noted that it will immediately prohibit the import of wild birds, domesticated birds, poultry meat, one-day-old chicks, and eggs from Australia. It is worth mentioning that Australia ranks fourth among the largest suppliers of poultry meat to the Philippines, accounting for 4% of total poultry imports.
