Israel Recovers Bodies of Three Hostages in Gaza

The Israeli army announced that it had found the bodies of three hostages who were kidnapped during the attack on October 7, and has returned them to the country. Army spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated in a televised address: "With a heavy heart, I share the news that the Israeli army, along with the Shin Bet (internal security) and special forces, recovered last night the bodies of hostages Isaac Gleranter, Shani Luke, and Amit Buzkila."

Hagari explained that the three were killed while attempting to flee from the Nova music festival, and their bodies were transported to Gaza. For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a brief statement in Arabic from his office: "The heart breaks due to the immense loss. My wife Sara and I mourn with their families, and our hearts are all with them in their deep sorrow. We will bring back all the kidnapped."

Israel believes that 125 hostages are still being held in Gaza since the attack on October 7 launched by Palestinian factions against settlements in southern Israel.
