Saida Municipality: Strict Enforcement Against Motorcycle Violations

The Saida Municipality announced in a statement that "according to decision 687 issued by the Governor of South Lebanon, Mansour Dwe, on January 1, 1999, which prohibits the use and circulation of motorcycles within the Saida Municipality, its implementation has not been suspended to this day. After the recent escalation of violations committed by a significant number of citizens, especially motorcycle riders, which pose a serious threat to public traffic safety, we confirm that, through the municipal police force and with the support of other relevant security units, we will intensify our enforcement against violations in implementation of the aforementioned decision."

It added: "In parallel, we are in continuous communication and coordination with the Governor's office, in an effort to reconsider the aforementioned decision by the competent authority and to explore the possibility of restricting the use of motorcycles to riders who meet all legal conditions to preserve the public interest."
