Real Madrid Retains Title of Richest Football Club for Third Consecutive Year

Real Madrid has retained the title of the richest football club in the world for the third consecutive year. According to a report published by Forbes, the value of Real Madrid has risen to $6.6 billion, an increase of 9% from last year. The club is also the highest-earning team, generating $873 million, with $205 million annually from shirt sponsors, the highest figure in football according to "Football Benchmark."

Real Madrid has won 5 of the last 10 UEFA Champions League titles and is aiming for a sixth title on June 1 against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley. Manchester United ranks second, following billionaire Jim Ratcliffe's acquisition of 27.7% of the club's shares last February, leaving them just $50 million behind Real Madrid.

Barcelona holds the third position with a value of $5.6 billion, an increase of 2%, $100 million short of Real Madrid, earning $189 million annually from shirt sponsors. Six English teams are among the top 10 clubs, following the Premier League's local television deal signed in December for the seasons from 2025-2026 to 2028-2029, which will earn more than double the local broadcast revenues of any other football league, and nearly double that of La Liga, when international broadcasting agreements are accounted for.
