Abdollahian Arrives in Damascus

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived today, Monday, in the Syrian capital, Damascus, as part of his regional tour, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Abdollahian met with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mikdad, where they discussed the Israeli attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus and developments in Palestine.

This visit comes one week after an Israeli strike targeted the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital. The Syrian newspaper "Al-Watan" reported, citing its sources, that "Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad will hold official talks with Abdollahian, with the repercussions of the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus as a central focus of the discussions, alongside bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza."

The Iranian Foreign Minister had arrived in Muscat yesterday, Sunday, and held separate meetings with his Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood al-Busaidi and the spokesperson for the Yemeni "Ansar Allah" movement, Mohammed Abd al-Salam.
