On Thursday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin met with the Minister of Economy of Oman, Said bin Mohammed al-Saqri, during the International Economic Forum "Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum," with the attendance of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. They discussed issues of trade exchange and future cooperation between the two countries.
Marat Khusnullin stated, "Oman is one of Russia's important economic partners today. By the end of 2023, the volume of trade between Russia and Oman has increased by 60 percent, surpassing 400 million dollars. There are great prospects for cooperation in tourism, energy, construction, and logistics services, particularly the North-South transport corridor project."
It is noteworthy that during the meeting, future cooperation between the two countries was discussed across several fields, along with expanding communications in economic, scientific, and cultural sectors. According to Khusnullin, "Russia values its good relations with Oman, as they are of a long-term strategic nature."
For his part, Omani Minister of Economy Said bin Mohammed al-Saqri confirmed that the volume of trade between Oman and Russia has grown significantly, highlighting the opportunity for these figures to increase substantially. He said, "We appreciate the current level of cooperation and would be happy to expand it, including in new areas." The minister also expressed his satisfaction in discussing economic cooperation possibilities in various fields with the President of Tatarstan.
