The Mayor of Qusayya in the Central Bekaa - Zahle District, Milad Kadi, clarified in a statement that "there is no truth to the rumors regarding an airstrike on the outskirts of the town." He affirmed that "the smoke that rose coinciding with a sonic boom was due to a fire in the area, which led residents of nearby towns to believe it was an airstrike." Kadi mentioned that civil defense and the Lebanese army arrived at the scene and worked to extinguish the fire. He expressed special thanks to the army and civil defense personnel for their assistance in putting out the fire.
