Israel Launches Major Attack Near the Egyptian Border

Israeli media has reported that the Israeli army is conducting an unusual attack along the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip to destroy tunnels. The Israeli news site "bhol" stated that these tunnels are intended for smuggling weapons, and previous reports indicated concerns among security agencies that Hamas might use them to smuggle prisoners or leaders of the movement. The Israeli army carried out a major attack on structures in the first line of houses in the city of Rafah, near the border between Egypt and Gaza. Elior Levi, a reporter for Israeli Channel "Kan 11," mentioned that an operation was executed against Hamas militants who manage the smuggling tunnels under the Philadelphi Route leading to Egyptian Rafah. He added that this attack might be linked to reports published about two weeks ago indicating that Hamas could be attempting to smuggle prisoners or its senior leaders out of the Gaza Strip. The site noted that Hamas uses these tunnels for military purposes and to transport advanced weapons along a route that ends in Sinai and leads to the Gaza Strip.
