Foiling an Attempt to Smuggle Counterfeit Dollars into Turkey via the Airport

Security agencies at Rafik Hariri International Airport closely monitor daily attempts to smuggle prohibited items or engage in illegal activities at all levels, whether for incoming or outgoing passengers. In this context, as part of their relentless efforts against attempts to smuggle counterfeit money through the airport—which has seen nearly four attempts in recent days—an inspection unit of the Internal Security Forces at the airport successfully thwarted an attempt this morning to smuggle approximately $150,000 in counterfeit U.S. dollars by a Lebanese citizen attempting to transport them to Turkey.
