Interior and Municipalities Minister Bassam Mawlawi and Tourism Minister Walid Nassar of the caretaker government, along with the Director of Administration and Personal Status at the Ministry of Interior, Najwa Souidan Farah, judge Miray Malak, Captain Nader Qasb of the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, and board member of the Rosary Holding, Youssef Basil, have arrived in Florence to participate in the inauguration ceremony of St. Sharbel Church, which was restored at the personal expense of Lebanon’s honorary consul in Florence, Sharbel El Shabir. The ceremony will take place during a mass presided over by Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rai next Sunday evening. Mawlawi, Nassar, and the accompanying delegation were welcomed at MALPENZI airport by Lebanon’s consul in Milan, Khalil Mohammad, and El Shabir. Also arriving in Florence were the mayor of Labba, Fadi Romanos, the mayor of Qartabun, Abdo Al-Attiq, and Lebanese community member in Italy, Sakher Azar, who sculpted and presented the statue of St. Sharbel that will be placed in the church for the celebrations taking place there.
