Lebanese artist Pascale Machaalani bid farewell to her late brother Eli, who passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Machaalani mourned her brother in an emotional message posted on her X account (formerly Twitter), writing: "God have mercy on you, my dear brother, my tender heart, my beloved, and my companion on this journey. I will miss you so much and love you to the moon. You will leave a big void in my heart. You always made me laugh and loved to be the first one to hear my new songs. You loved music, joy, and life, and hated sadness. You left too soon, my soul. Your spirit is in heaven. Christ has risen so we can meet again."
In the same tweet, she continued: "You left too soon, my soul, your spirit is in heaven, Christ has risen so we can meet again." During her brother’s burial, Pascale mentioned that his death “has broken her” and that it is God’s will. While crying, she said: "I will miss you so much, every day you would greet me, who will greet me now? Who will I argue with?"
Pascale's son described his uncle as "the kindest uncle, who loved me to the moon." The funeral for Pascale’s brother, who passed away at the age of 60, was held today with participation from family and friends in the arts. Artist Najwa Karam supported Machaalani and was present in the front rows alongside the bereaved family.
