Polling stations opened in the Netherlands on Thursday, marking the start of a four-day election across the European Union to select 720 members of the European Parliament. The 370 million eligible Europeans have been called to cast their votes amid geopolitical uncertainty for the bloc, following two and a half years of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Most other EU countries will vote on Sunday.
