The results of polls for the U.S. presidential candidates keep fluctuating, resembling a stock market, revealing Donald Trump's lead at times and Joe Biden's lead at others. A recent poll shows that Biden is ahead by one percentage point over Trump ahead of the presidential election scheduled for November, as the former president faces legal allegations regarding business record tampering.
Around 40% of registered voters in the poll, which lasted for two days and concluded yesterday, indicated that they would vote for Biden, a member of the Democratic Party, if the election were held today, compared to 39% who chose former President Trump, the Republican candidate. Approximately 28% of the poll participants stated that they have not made a decision yet or might lean towards other options, including abstaining from voting. The poll found that 8% of participants would choose Robert Kennedy Jr., the anti-vaccine activist who will run as an independent candidate, if he were on the ballot alongside Trump and Biden.
The margin of error in the poll was about three percentage points for registered voters, many of whom remain undecided six months before the election on November 5. Although polls provide significant insights into the support candidates receive, only a few states generally tip the balance in the American electoral college, which ultimately decides the winner of the presidential election.
