Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri met with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Saturday, on the sidelines of the 15th Islamic Summit Conference. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry's statement indicated that "the meeting addressed the most important topics on the summit's agenda, primarily the ongoing war in Gaza, ways to end it, and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people." The summit is discussing political issues concerning the Islamic world, with a focus on the Palestinian cause, as well as economic, humanitarian, social, legal, cultural matters, and issues related to youth, women, family, science, technology, and media. Additionally, it addresses matters related to combating hate speech and Islamophobia, promoting dialogue, climate change, and food security.
