Racing Beirut, in its first season back in the top division after a long absence, secured its position among the top six teams competing in the second half of the 64th Lebanese Football League, finishing sixth at the end of the first round. This was achieved after a 2-2 draw with Safa, which finished fifth, in a match held today at the Fouad Chehab Sports Complex in Jounieh during the eleventh and final round of the first half. Safa equalized in the 111th minute of stoppage time. Safa raised its points total to 17, while Racing reached 15.
The teams will enter the second half of the season divided into two groups. The first group, known as the "Premier Group," consists of the top six teams competing for the title: Al-Ahly, Al-Najma, Al-Bourj, Al-Ansar, Safa, and Racing Beirut. The second group, referred to as the "Relegation Group," comprises the teams ranked from 7 to 12: Shabab Al-Sahlel, Tripoli, Hikma Beirut, Ahli Nabatiyeh, Tadamun Sour, and Shabab Ghazieh.
The teams will play in a round-robin format over three complete rounds. Points from the first round will be halved and carried over, meaning that the actual outcomes will be determined in the second half, where each team will play 15 matches.
At the Zgharta Sports Complex in Merdachieh, Tripoli Sports Club secured its third win, defeating Hikma Beirut 1-0, with the first half ending 0-0. The only goal came from Jeronimo Lopez in the 84th minute. This victory brought Tripoli's points total to 12, while Hikma Beirut remained in eighth place with seven points, suffering its eighth loss.
At Safa Club Stadium in Wata Musaitbeh, Shabab Al-Sahlel drew with Ahli Nabatiyeh 0-0. Shabab Al-Sahlel increased its points to 14, while Ahli Nabatiyeh, with six draws and no wins thus far, sits in the tenth position with six points.
