Soldier Steals David Ben-Gurion's Glasses

The Israeli website "Walla" reported that a soldier stole the glasses of David Ben-Gurion, the founder of the Israeli state, from the museum and shrine dedicated to him in the settlement of Sde Boker. The site mentioned that the Dimona police received a complaint last night (Sunday) about the disappearance of Ben-Gurion's glasses, indicating that a swift investigation conducted by police revealed that the suspect in the theft was a soldier who was there on patrol. It was found that the glasses were placed on the desk inside his house, which has been converted into a museum in the kibbutz of Sde Boker. Upon receiving the report, the police chief instructed swift action to track down the perpetrator to locate the stolen glasses, which are considered of historical and national value, and to return them to the heritage site. The military base was searched, and officers found the glasses. The soldier was detained for questioning at the Dimona station and was eventually released under restrictive conditions instead of being arrested.
