The town of Bebnin in Akkar held a funeral today, Sunday, for the Islamic group officials Muhammad Said Khalaf and Bilal Muhammad Khalaf, who were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Friday along the Medoun-Bekaa road. The funeral procession was received in Tripoli's Saha al-Noor before continuing to their hometown of Bebnin. Heavy and medium gunfire was reported in areas from Miniyeh, Abda, and Mahmurah up to Bebnin, coinciding with the procession. According to reports, stray bullets resulted in one injury in Bebnin. Additionally, a child was injured in the head due to the stray fire. The child's father stated, "May God not assist you... the bullet hit my son's head... may God break your hands."
Regarding the funeral, the Islamic group praised the loyalty of Akkar province, the town of Bebnin, and the North to the issues of the homeland and the nation, highlighting their participation in expressing national unity, which was manifested in the pure blood of the martyrs Musab and Bilal Khalaf, which watered the land of Bekaa in defense of the people of the South and in support of the people of Palestine.
The Islamic group expressed its gratitude to "our people in Akkar and the North for their loyalty and participation in the funeral of the leaders Khalaf." However, they lamented the armed displays and gunfire that accompanied the transfer of the martyrs' bodies from Tripoli to Bebnin and during the funeral, considering it out of character for the people and their nature. They affirmed their commitment to the stability of the nation and the safety of its citizens, stating that "any bullet fired in a direction other than towards the Israeli enemy is in the wrong place, and any scene that causes panic and fear among the Lebanese is unacceptable. Everyone is called upon to do their part in protecting, rebuilding, and developing the homeland and its institutions."
