Burglary in Sidon: Neighbor Arrested for Stealing Money

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Monday, stating: "On July 28, 2023, a citizen identified as A.S. (born in 1981) filed a complaint at the Sidon New police station against an unknown individual for stealing an amount of $15,000 from a safe inside his home located in the Seroub neighborhood of Sidon. Consequently, the Southern Investigative Unit commenced intensive investigations in the area to uncover the identity of the thief. As a result of the follow-up, suspicion fell on one of the complainant's neighbors, identified as A.D. (born in 2007, Palestinian). Subsequently, the suspect was lured back to the city of Sidon after having left for Beirut, where he was arrested upon his arrival. During the investigation conducted by the Sidon New police station, he confessed to the charges against him, stating that the stolen amount was only $5,000. The arrested individual was transferred to the Sidon Judicial Unit for further investigation, upon the directive of the competent judiciary."
