Biden: No Return to the Situation Before October 6

U.S. President Joe Biden stated on Wednesday that he believes Israel needs to defend its citizens while also protecting innocent civilians in Gaza who have become victims of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. He reiterated the call for a two-state solution once the current conflict settles. Biden emphasized that there will be "no return to the situation that existed on October 6" between Israel and the Palestinians, and noted that "the subsequent phase should be the two-state solution, and there is a need to work on greater integration for Israel." He expressed uncertainty regarding the number of casualties that Hamas reported following the explosion at the hospital in Gaza on October 17.
