The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati confirmed that "Hezbollah is acting with high patriotism, and I am assured of its rationality." He indicated that "we have put in place an emergency plan for the next three months in case of any war in Lebanon." In an interview with Al Jazeera, he stated that "we are not war enthusiasts and will not take any steps to ignite further wars in the region," clarifying that "Lebanon adheres to international legitimacy and United Nations resolutions and emphasizes them."
He stressed that "caution exists, and we hope that the communications will lead to stopping Israel's fire in southern Lebanon," adding, "What concerns me is that Lebanon remains away from war, and we always look forward to stability." He called for "a ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible, for it is unacceptable for bloodshed in Gaza to continue due to brutality and massacres." He mentioned, "We maintain self-restraint, and Israel must stop its ongoing provocations in southern Lebanon."
He saw that "the results of the Arab Islamic summit are much better than I had expected, and I hope that its decisions do not remain ink on paper."
