U.S. President Joe Biden responded today, Tuesday, to a question from journalists at the White House regarding whether aid is reaching Gaza quickly enough, stating, "Not fast enough." Biden's acknowledgment summarizes the humanitarian crisis threatening the area, where around 60 percent of the inhabitants are women and children. The Palestinian Red Crescent stated that eight trucks loaded with water, food, and medicine entered Gaza from Egypt late today. This marks the fourth batch of emergency aid to enter the region since the war broke out with Israel. The Palestinian Red Crescent noted in a statement that the shipment includes five trucks carrying water, two trucks carrying food, and one truck carrying medicines. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) called today for the facilitation of humanitarian aid flow into Gaza, which is suffering from a humanitarian crisis following two weeks of intense Israeli attacks. Agency spokesperson Tamara al-Rifai stated, "We demand a continuous and unobstructed flow of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza." She added, "The trucks that have arrived so far are just a few drops compared to the enormous needs of the people in the streets."
