Security authorities in Egypt have arrested an individual in Giza for promoting the sale of antiquities via the social media platform Facebook. The Ministry of Interior's security agencies had monitored posts on Facebook concerning someone offering a royal burial stone for sale.
Upon investigation, the perpetrator was identified and apprehended, residing in the Talbiya police department area in Giza. He was found in possession of two royal burial stones and two coins. When confronted, he admitted to possessing the items for the purpose of trade.
The confiscated items were presented to the relevant authorities, which confirmed their antiquity, and all necessary legal procedures have been taken regarding the matter.
