Timour Jumblatt Discusses Details of the Patriarch's Visit to the Mountain Region

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Timour Jumblatt welcomed the Maronite Archbishop of Sidon, Bishop Maroun Ammar, in Clemenceau, accompanied by the special episcopal deputy, Monsignor Abdo Abu Kassem, and the episcopal vicar, Father Maroun Kiyuan, in the presence of members of the "Democratic Gathering" bloc, including MPs Marwan Hamadeh, Wael Abu Faour, Bilel Abdallah, former MP Ni'mat Taameh, Jumblatt's advisor Hossam Harb, and party leader Walid Safir.

They discussed the general situation and the details of the visit of Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi to the Mountain region on the 8th of this month, where Jumblatt expressed his welcome for the visit and its importance "for what it represents in renewing the affirmation of reconciliation and commitment to meeting and dialogue."

In this context, "Al-Markazia" obtained the program for the visit as follows:

At 9:00 AM, the Patriarch will arrive at his first stop, the residence of the Sheikh of the Druze community, Sheikh Sami Abi al-Muna, in Shanieh. Following that, he and Sheikh Abi al-Muna will head to the episcopal residence in Beiteddine, where they will be greeted by several mayors, notables, priests, and residents.

At 11:45 AM, the Patriarch will proceed to his second stop in Baakleen - the National Library to deliver a lecture at the invitation of the Unified Chouf Gathering titled "The Fruits of Reconciliation... and Future Perspectives," which Sheikh Abi al-Muna will also participate in. This will be followed by lunch in Mukhtara in his honor at 1:00 PM.

In the evening at 6:00 PM, the Patriarch will lead a celebratory Mass at the episcopal residence in Beiteddine. He will conclude his visit with a dinner hosted by former MP Ni'mat Taameh at 9:00 PM in honor of Patriarch Al-Rahi, the bishops, and priests at the Amir Amin Palace.
