Two Palestinians were killed and three others injured in Nablus today, Friday, by Israeli army gunfire during an incursion into the city located in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the army. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported two martyrs and three injuries due to the aggression in Nablus, identifying the martyrs as Khairy Muhammad Sari Shaheen (34 years old) and Hamza Muayed Muhammad Maqbool (32 years old).
Intense sounds of clashes were heard in the eastern part of the old town. Sirens rang out in the neighborhood, and mosques called out via loudspeakers for Palestinians to confront the invading forces. The official Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported that "Israeli forces stormed the old town of Nablus, leading to confrontations between citizens and Israeli forces that resulted in three injuries."
The armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine announced that the two deceased were its members, indicating that they carried out an attack on the Israeli police. The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) reported the killing of one of its members by Israeli gunfire in a separate incident near the city of Ramallah, as violence erupted during a protest against the establishment of settlements.
Palestinian residents stated, "Jewish settlers came to the protest site, and both sides exchanged stone-throwing." They added that Israeli soldiers present at the scene opened fire. Palestinian officials reported that a Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire, but the circumstances of the situation remain unclear. The Israeli army stated that Palestinian rioters threw stones at its forces and also hurled them onto a main road, adding that the forces "responded with riot control measures and live ammunition, and one target was hit."
