The Israeli army announced the death of 3 soldiers in a rocket attack by Hamas on the Kerem Shalom crossing at the Gaza border. The Israeli army reported that 10 rockets were launched towards the Kerem Shalom area, located a few hundred meters from the crossing. It pointed out that the rockets were fired from the neighboring Rafah area.
Subsequently, the Israeli government announced the "prevention of humanitarian aid passage through the Kerem Shalom crossing" to Gaza, following the rocket falls near the region. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it targeted an Israeli army base.
The Israeli Kerem Shalom crossing has become the main entry point for urgently needed humanitarian aid into Gaza. This incident occurs at a time when Gaza is facing a humanitarian crisis with shortages of food, medicine, and other humanitarian supplies.
