Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated that coordination among Arab and Islamic countries regarding Gaza is "great," with a "very high" level of coordination, emphasizing that "peace is our goal as Arabs and Muslims." He added, "We closely monitor the double standards of the West and evaluate our positions," noting that "some countries justify Israel's violations of international law." He indicated that "the shift in positions regarding Gaza is not enough, and we want to stop the war and protect civilians," adding, "We will continue to pressure against double standards and the inaction of the international community."
Bin Farhan stressed the necessity of having an opportunity for peace as our goal, while the other side avoids discussing it. He said, "We cannot talk about any other future in Gaza right now; we can only talk about an immediate ceasefire."
For his part, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit considered the decisions from the joint Arab-Islamic summit to be "very good," representing "pressure" on those who support Israel, stating, "If the world does not take action, we will witness more armed conflicts." Aboul Gheit, during a joint press conference with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Ibrahim Taha, following the announcement of the final statement of the summit held in Riyadh, mentioned that "the summit decisions are good, and their strength lies in being issued by 57 Arab and Islamic countries, highlighting their pressure position on the supporters of Israel." He pointed out the "seriousness in dealing with the two-state solution idea to resolve the Palestinian issue," adding, "We are facing a regional and international pressing situation to achieve that... The Riyadh summit decision represents the weight of one-third of United Nations members."
