Closure of Poultry Slaughterhouse in Tripoli

The Governor of North Lebanon, Judge Ramzi Nahra, sent a letter to the commander of the North Region Police, Brigadier General Mustafa Badran, requesting him to oversee and instruct the necessary parties to close the Turkmen Chicken slaughterhouse and shop in the Qobbeh area of Tripoli using red wax. This request was based on a previous letter submitted by the Tripoli municipality to inspect the slaughterhouse and take legal action, following numerous complaints from citizens regarding violations of public health standards, lack of a legal license, and the employment of foreign workers illegally.

The letter stated: "After inspecting the slaughterhouse owned by Hilal Al-Meir in the Qobbeh area of Tripoli, it became clear to us that the condition is very poor, and there are no minimum standards of health and safety regarding cleanliness, construction, bathrooms, the way the chickens are stored, and fraud. In addition, the refrigerators are not fit for use, and there are foreign workers operating without legal work permits; therefore, please review and take appropriate action."
