Return of Tension Between Fares Karam and Myriam Fares... Leading to Court

The single penal judge in Jounieh, Michel Maouad, has scheduled a hearing on May 9, 2023, to begin the trial of artist Fares Karam for slander and defamation, following a complaint filed against him by artist Myriam Fares through her lawyer, Georges Khoury. It is noted that the public prosecution had dismissed the complaint presented by Fares Karam against Myriam Fares due to a lack of any crime.

The famous dispute between Myriam Fares and Fares Karam resurfaced after a fabricated news story was circulated on April Fool's Day, claiming that reconciliation had occurred between the two artists. After some media initially reported this news without verification, Fares Karam criticized what he termed the "COPY PASTE" journalism, stating: "The best thing I said is 'They lied and entertained us.' They consider themselves prestigious and respected media institutions, while they are nothing but COPY PASTE media, shame on them!"

Myriam Fares did not remain silent and published the court decision prohibiting Karam from approaching her, stating: "The matter ended six months ago; Judge Ghada Aoun issued the ruling and closed the case within 24 hours. Fares appeared for interrogation, recanted his statements, and deleted the tweet 'contrary to what he was threatening.' He was released on bail, and the matter was closed in that instant."

Following Myriam's publication, Fares Karam commented, saying: "Have some mercy on yourself... I swear it's shameful during Mother’s Week... Don't you get enough of this embarrassment, girl????"

The conflict between the artists started over the cancellation of a concert in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in June 2022, which was supposed to bring together the two Lebanese stars as part of the Jeddah Season program. However, Fares Karam was dissatisfied with how he was portrayed in it, leading to fiery statements exchanged between the two.
