17% of Israeli Army Soldier Deaths Due to Accidents

The Israeli army announced that approximately 17% of the deaths of its soldiers in Gaza were due to accidents, stating that 29 military personnel have been killed in various incidents since the beginning of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, including 18 from friendly fire, according to Israeli media reports on Monday.

The Israeli newspaper "The Jerusalem Post" explained that some of these incidents involved "friendly fire," while others were cases of tanks running over soldiers who could not be seen, collapsing walls falling on soldiers, or mistakes with explosives during preparations for the attack on Palestinian resistance. Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" noted that two soldiers were killed along the northern front during operational incidents during this period. The Israeli army's central command reported that one soldier was killed by a bullet and another in a car accident.

The Israeli army stated in a statement that reservist soldier Eliraz Gabai (37) from Petah Tikva (central) and a fighter in Battalion 7810 of Yiftah Brigade (11) was killed in battle in central Gaza. It added that reservist soldier Liav Siada (23) from Tiberias (north), a fighter in Engineering Battalion 7107, was killed in battle in northern Gaza. Thus, the total number of Israeli army casualties since the outbreak of war has reached 505, according to the statement.

Additionally, 13 Israeli soldiers were reported injured during clashes with resistance factions in Gaza over the past 24 hours, with 7 in serious condition and 6 in moderate condition, according to the newspaper "Haaretz" on Sunday. The paper also highlighted that currently, 45 soldiers with serious injuries and another 260 in moderate condition are receiving treatment in hospitals.
