The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) called today, Friday, for the implementation of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, describing inaction on this matter as "consent to the killing of children." Following the end of a week-long truce between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), UNICEF spokesperson James Elder stated, "A permanent ceasefire must be implemented." He added, "Inaction is, in essence, consent to the killing of children."
