The Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Products Administration, known as "the Regie", announced in a statement that "the anti-smuggling patrols of the Regie carried out raids in the areas of Shiyah, Dora, Bourj Hammoud, Sed el-Bouchrieh, Moutayleb, Mazraat Yachouh, and Zalka, during which they seized quantities of smuggled tobacco products, smuggled and counterfeit molasses, as well as cigars and electronic cigarettes (vape). Reports were filed against the violators, which will be reviewed by the relevant judiciary." These seizures are part of the Regie's ongoing efforts to combat smuggling. The administration also stated in another announcement that "despite the difficult circumstances the country is facing, the Regie achieved remarkable success for the eighth consecutive time during the recent external audit (Surveillance1) regarding its application of the quality management system ISO 9001:2015 and the occupational health and safety management system ISO 45001, in collaboration with Bureau Veritas." It emphasized that "this achievement is merely a testament to the administration's commitment to providing a healthy and safe working environment for workers and the team's determination for continuous improvement and achieving the best results, serving the national economy and providing the best service and quality products for the Lebanese citizen."
