A news site close to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) reported that a group calling itself the "Immortal Brigade" carried out a bombing in the Turkish capital, Ankara, today, Sunday. The report from "ANF News" followed the actions of two individuals who conducted a bomb attack in front of Turkish government buildings in Ankara, resulting in their deaths and injuries to two police officers.
The command of the People's Defense Centers issued a statement regarding the operation that targeted the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior near the parliament in Kızılay, Ankara. The statement read: "Today, around 9:30 AM, a unit from the 'Immortal Brigade' carried out a martyrdom operation in front of the Turkish Ministry of Interior. This action was clearly planned in conjunction with the opening of the parliament and relatively close to the building, which is considered a center of massacre and torture, and it was executed according to plan and without any obstacles. Our comrades who carried out this martyrdom operation overcame the guard point and infiltrated the security area, successfully achieving their objective. However, as usual, the Justice and Development Party system chose to deny the losses incurred in this act and ignore the people and public opinion. Everyone should know that the members of the Immortal Brigade could have achieved a completely different result with a slight change in their timing if they wanted to. But such a decision was deliberately not made, and the primary goal of sending the necessary message to the concerned parties and seriously warning them was accomplished."
The statement continued: "This targeted heroic act, executed on the day the deputies gathered in the parliament for the first time after the summer recess, is dedicated to the memory of Aksin Mus (Hulya Demirer), the Provincial Commander of Amara and former Brigade Commander. This great and historical act was carried out by our friends Rojhat Zilan and Erdal Shahin. We remember these immortal messengers in the traditions of self-sacrifice, whom we must respect with all due honor and gratitude."
