Hamas leader Osama Hamdan confirmed today, Saturday, that the "Aqsa Flood" operation is intended to respond to the ongoing crimes of the occupation. In a special interview with "Warda," Hamdan stated that "the West Bank is the decisive word in this battle, and it can open engagements with all the settlements in the West Bank. We urge our people to participate in the Aqsa Flood battle."
Hamdan continued that "the fighters in the Gaza Strip have initiated a wide operation aimed at defending Al-Aqsa Mosque and liberating the prisoners." He called on the Arab and Islamic nations to participate in the "Aqsa Flood" battle, saying, "Let us set the ground ablaze in the West Bank and invite the nation to engage in the battle."
Regarding the timing of the operation, Hamdan emphasized that the resistance alone determines the place and time for launching any operation, which was initiated today in response to what the Israeli government announced regarding malicious projects aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause by pursuing normalization and pushing Arab countries to abandon the issue.
The commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Muhammad Deif, also announced today the start of the "Aqsa Flood" operation in response to the occupation's crimes against Palestinians and its repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. Deif stated in a recorded message broadcasted by Al-Aqsa Channel, "We announce the start of the 'Aqsa Flood' operation and report that the first strike targeting enemy positions and fortifications has exceeded 5,000 rockets and shells."
