The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "Information was received by the Information Branch about two unknown individuals involved in drug trafficking in the Saint Therese - Hadath area. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the branch was able to identify them as follows: H. A. (born in 1999, Lebanese) wanted by the judiciary for drug-related offenses and sentenced to life imprisonment. M. M. (born in 1988, Syrian), who has a criminal record for human trafficking. On 24-4-2024, after surveillance, patrols from the branch managed to arrest them in the act while they were promoting narcotics in the Saint Therese area, using a Swiit motorcycle, which was seized. During the arrest, one of them drew a firearm at the patrol officers, who managed to subdue him and confiscate the gun along with a magazine and four live rounds. Upon searching the suspects and the motorcycle, a quantity of different narcotics prepared for distribution was seized, including 82 plastic wraps of cocaine and 11 envelopes of hashish. During the investigation, they confessed to the charges against them. Legal measures were taken, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the relevant authorities, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judiciary."
