The Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, issued Decision No. 2 of 2024 to reshape the Board of Directors of the Digital School, one of the initiatives of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation. The board’s term will extend for three years from the date of the decision, and if the term ends, the members will continue their tasks until they are reappointed or a new board of directors is appointed for the Digital School. The board will manage the Digital School according to the procedures stipulated in the school’s bylaws.
The Digital School, launched by Mohammed bin Rashid in November 2020, is the first comprehensive digital school of its kind, aiming to empower students with digital learning options in areas where conditions or resources for continuing their education are unavailable. It provides a qualitative option for blended learning and remote learning in a smart and flexible manner, targeting underprivileged community groups. The school adopts an inclusive approach to digital transformation in education, expanding opportunities through digital learning options, especially in remote and underprivileged developing areas. The school continues to expand, having over 160,000 benefiting students and offering services in more than 13 countries, while also training over 2,500 digital teachers. Educational and training content is provided in four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
