The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division reported that "as part of the follow-up conducted by the Internal Security Forces to combat various types of crimes, information was received regarding an unidentified individual roaming around schools and universities targeting female students. He engages in harassment after they get into his passenger transport vehicle."
The statement continued, "Immediately, the relevant units were tasked with carrying out inquiry procedures to identify the suspect. As a result of the follow-up, the Information Branch determined that he uses a 'Nissan Tiida' champagne-colored vehicle with a public license plate, and his name is: A.H. (born in 1971, Lebanese). He has a criminal record for harassment."
The statement noted, "On 14-12-2023, one of the patrols of the branch managed to arrest him in the city of Beirut and seized the vehicle used in the harassment operations. During the investigation, he confessed to the accusations of harassing girls, especially school and university students, using the taxi he operates within areas of Beirut and the suburbs. He would provide his phone number to the victims while impersonating fictitious names, often using the name 'Fadi'."
It added, "The vehicle has been legally confiscated, and the necessary legal action has been taken against him."
The statement concluded, "Thus, based on the judicial guidance, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces disseminates his image and requests that girls who have fallen victim to his actions contact the Beirut Information Branch at the number: 01/307728, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures."
